An Indiana man charged in connection with a stabbing in White Township is free on bail after a hearing yesterday.
Court documents show 23-year-old Joel Hyderkhan faces charges of aggravated assault, attempted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault, possession of a weapon and harassment for the incident on October 20th when state police say he stabbed 30-year-old Alexander Gutierrez outside an apartment in Byron Court. An affidavit of probable cause said the stabbing happened during an ongoing confrontation that started with a verbal argument. Hyderkhan later told police that Gutierrez had threatened him and his family and hit him with a portable speaker before he stabbed him.
While a preliminary hearing was continued to December 4th, a bail hearing held yesterday changed the bond from $25,000 cash to $50,000 unsecured bond at the request of Hyderkhan’s attorney.
