VOLLEYBALL
The District 6 playoffs come to an end for two more Heritage Conference teams, as both Marion Center and West Shamokin lost last night by 3-0 scores in AA. The Stingers were beaten by top seed Richland. The Wolves fell to number five Forest Hills.
Tonight in the Class A semifinals, fourth seed Northern Cambria visits number one West Branch while number ten Conemaugh Valley plays at number three Saint Joseph’s.
HOCKEY
Indiana gets its first win of the season, 4-2 over Richland at the War Memorial in Johnstown.
Tied at two after two periods, Indiana broke through with a goal by Samuel Frich at 8:50 of the third, and an insurance goal by Andrew Manzek at 16:02. Indiana scored the last four goals of the game after falling behind 2-0. Matthew Stone and Zendo Dzuro scored second period goals to tie it. Dzuro and Michael Dubetsky each had two assists and Stone added an assist. Jacob Wood made 14 saves to get the win for Indiana, which is 1-3-1.
