A traffic reminder today, that South Sixth Street in Indiana between School Street and Carter Avenue will be closed on Monday for some roadway maintenance. Quaker Sales Corporation workers will be doing the work, which includes ADA ramp replacements and additional work on Route 119.
Also, leaf collecting begins tomorrow in Indiana Borough and White Township, and the collection method is different in each municipality.
In Indiana, leaves must be raked in piles between the curb and the sidewalk and not bagged. They must not be near fire hydrants, poles, and parked cars. And it’s only for leaves, not for other yard clippings, sticks, and garden refuse.
In White Township, leaves should be placed in biodegradable paper bags and placed at the curb or ditch line. After tomorrow, leaf collection will occur in White Township on the next four consecutive Mondays (November 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th.)
