Indiana County firefighters battled two brush fires yesterday, one along Girty Road in Westmoreland County and the other along Saltsburg Road in Conemaugh Township.
The first dispatch along Girty Road was at around 3:30 PM for Iselin/West Lebanon firefighters, who were soon joined by Coal Run/McIntyre, with Tunnelton and Export placed on standby.
Eight fire companies responded to the second fire, along Saltsburg Road. The alarm at around 6 PM involved firefighters from Saltsburg, Tunnelton, Aultman, Coal Run/McIntyre, Black Lick, Coral-Graceton, New Alexandria, and Slickville.
Indiana firefighters were summoned for an accident on Oakland Avenue in White Township at 7:11 PM.
