After a 68-yard touchdown pass to Pat Freiermuth, the Steelers were positioned to get their fifth win last night, but the defense allowed the Bengals to storm down the field on a 50-yard drive to set up a game-winning 36-yard field goal by Evan McPherson as Cincinnati beat Pittsburgh 33-31.
Joe Flacco was 31 of 47 passing for 342 yards and three touchdowns for Cincinnati. Aaron Rodgers was 23-for-34 for 249 yards and four touchdowns, but had two interceptions. Rodgers passed Big Ben Roethlisberger for fifth all-time in NFL passing yardage. Jaylen Warren ran for 127 yards for the Steelers.
Coach Mike Tomlin says the Steelers didn’t do the job on defense.
Rodgers says the Steelers missed a chance for a win last night, but they’ll be okay.
There is some tough sledding ahead for the Steelers. They play the Packers next Sunday night at Acrisure Stadium, then they’ll face the Colts and Chargers before getting another shot at the Bengals.
