Checking the Arizona Fall League, Pirates’ prospect Esmerlyn Valdez hit his third home run of the AFL season last night and his fellow Altoona Curve teammate, Dominic Perachi, gave up one run in three innings and earned the win in a 5-2 victory for Salt River over Glendale.
Valdez is 3-for-9 so far this season, with all three hits sailing over the fence. He’s walked eight times in seventeen plate appearances.
