A man is being sentenced for killing a woman’s dog in Butler County.
In January of 2024, Joseph Hillard had been accused of breaking into the home of a woman whom he met on a dating app who said she did not want to see him anymore. After breaking into the home, Hillard stole the woman’s ten-year-old pug and then killed it.
Hillard pled guilty to burglary, aggravated cruelty to animals and tampering with evidence and has been sentenced to three-years and four-months in prison.
