Jurors in Westmoreland County have returned a verdict in the trial of suspended Pennsylvania State Police trooper Nicholas Hood, who was accused of assaulting his girlfriend.
Sarah Hellmann alleged that in a 2023 incident, Hood grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the ground outside their Derry Township home. Hood faced a charge of simple assault, but the jury found him not guilty on Wednesday.
