At their meeting Tuesday night, Indiana Borough Council approved applications for three grants.
The council approved a resolution to apply for the Southwest Pennsylvania Commission’s Transportation Alternative Set Aside grant seeking funds for the Fisher Avenue improvement project.
Two other grant applications were approved, including one for Public Safety Upgrades from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Local Share Account funds, and another from the same funding source for the Public Works upgrades, which includes the purchasing of equipment.
Communications and Grants Administrator Eden Zenisek talked about what machinery would be bought with the funds.
Council also announced that they are making progress with the EMS Authority contract with Citizens Ambulance. Council is asking EMS providers to go through a proposal process. Council Member Jonathan Smith talked about what that entails, and what their goal is in working that process.
In other business, council approved the Minimum Municipal Obligation for 2026.
