Susan Joyce “Wannett” Hill 60, of Indiana passed away peacefully on September 28,2025 at IRMC after a long illness.
She was born January 23, 1965, In Latrobe, PA. Susan grew up in Indiana and was the youngest of five children and often found herself amid an adventure. Funny, witty and kind, she was often the life of the party. She worked as a waitress most of her adult life at St Georges Bar & Grill in Center City, Philadelphia, until suffering from a back injury and relocating to Indiana where she worked various jobs and helped her elderly parents.
Susan loved her cats, fishing, outdoors, long drives but mostly she loved spending time with her grandkids, nieces and her special great niece, Emmy. Susan was a “shirt off her back” woman and mother and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Nicole Wannett (Dan) of Indiana. Three grandchildren Z’iere Thornton (Serinity, E’lheah and E’yonna), Gabrielle Thornton, Tahj Wayns and one great- grandson, E’ziah Thornton. Two sisters Michelle (Mike) McHugh, Deborah (Rick) Brindle. Two, brothers, Mark (Melanie) Wannett, Larry (Andrea) Wannett. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, her beloved pets Robert and Callie (Baby) and lifelong friend Terry Jobe.
She is preceded in death by her parents Michael and Lorraine Wannett.
Friends and family are to be received at The Celebration of Life on October 17, 2025, at Blue Spruce Lodge (Lakeside) from 3-7PM. Funeral will be private, and she will be laid to rest with her parents in Blairsville, PA.
