Week Seven of the high school football season arrives with teams closing in on the District 6 playoffs. Renda Media will feature four games tonight, three of them on Renda Digital TV.
On WCCS and Renda Digital TV, 4-2 Homer-Center hosts winless Conemaugh Valley.
Coach Greg Page says it’s a game the Wildcats need to keep pace in the District 6 rankings.
Page says the Blue Jays’ have a solid passing game led by sophomore quarterback Xzavier Tatum.
On 92.5 FM U92 and Renda Digital TV, undefeated Heritage Conference front-runner Marion Center visits 3-3 Northern Cambria.
Stingers coach Adam Rising says it might be quite a show.
Rising says the Colts’ offense is tough to prepare for.
Coach Sam Shutty says the Colts will always have to know where Stingers quarterback Camden Rising is.
Shutty says it’s never easy preparing for Marion Center’s defense.
On Cat Country 106.3 FM, River Valley coach Ed Dalton returns to Purchase Line, the school where he won the Appalachian Conference and District 6 AA titles and advanced to the state semifinals in 1990. Dalton coached there from 1988 to 1991, winning 18 straight games between the ’89 and ’90 seasons. River Valley is 5-1 coming into the game. Purchase Line is 2-4.
Dalton says it will be a special night, but the Panthers have an important football game to play.
Red Dragons coach Matt Falisec will have a lot to overcome, including River Valley’s depth. Falisec has a history with coach Dalton.
The other games in the Heritage Conference include 5-1 Cambria Heights hosting 2-4 Portage, winless West Shamokin visiting 3-3 United Valley, and 3-3 Penns Manor making the trip to play 3-3 Conemaugh Township.
All of the on-the-air action begins with the Indiana Total Therapy Pregame Shows at 6:30, with the exception of Homer-Center/Conemaugh Valley, which begins at 6:13. Kickoffs tonight will be at 7.
