It’s Homecoming Week at IUP, and coach Paul Tortorella’s 3-1 Crimson Hawks are preparing to host 2-2 Edinboro, which erased a 20-0 deficit and beat previously undefeated Clarion on Saturday, 21-20. West Shamokin grad Bo Swartz, the short-yardage quarterback specialist for the Fighting Scots, scored twice on one-yard runs, including the game-winner with 23 seconds remaining.
On last night’s Hawk Talk on U92 radio and Renda Digital TV, coach Paul Tortorella said Edinboro coach Matt Scott knows about winning football. After all, he started three years for IUP under coaches Frank Cignetti Sr. and Lou Tepper, when Tortorella was defensive coordinator. Scott also spent the 2008 season as the IUP defensive line coach.
Kickoff Saturday is at 2 PM.
