At the Kovalchick Complex Monday afternoon, the Indiana Area Collaboration Team gave reports about preparations for IUP’s Homecoming this weekend.
I-ACT is a group that brings together representatives from the university, Indiana Borough and White Township officials, law enforcement including state police, IUP police, and Indiana Borough police, emergency services, student groups, landlords, and others.
Representatives discussed how their groups would be contributing to the safety efforts for the weekend. IUP President and Co-Chair of I-ACT Dr. Michael Driscoll talked about what the purpose of the meeting was.
He also said that the enforcement efforts aren’t meant to deter people from having fun, but to do it in a safe and sensible manner.
Saturday’s events include the Homecoming Parade at 10 am, The Crimson Huddle at 11 am at the KCAC, the IUP football game against Edinboro at 2, and the Fifth Quarter Concert at 7 featuring The Clarks and special guest Chris Higbee.
