The Indiana County Commissioners had to deal with a virtual disruptor during their meeting this morning.
The Zoom feed, which is used to stream the meeting to the public and to bring in officials that are unable to make it to the meeting, was interrupted shortly after public comment with someone hijacking the audio and video feed to play heavy metal guitars and pornography. The meeting recording was stopped briefly and resumed after the offenders were ejected. Solicitor Matt Budash said that if the offenders are found, they could face punishment.
In other business, an agreement modification was approved for the county’s behavioral and developmental health program. This will allow the BDHP to draw down funds in advance to get the cash sooner to meet its financial obligations to Southwest Behavioral Health Management, Inc. Normally, money from the state budget would cover that, but due to the near three-month long impasse, that funding has not come to the counties. Program administrator Tammy Calderone talks about how tough it has been to work without the state budget in place.
To that end, Commissioner Sherene Hess will head to Harrisburg next Monday as part of a joint news conference from the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania School Boards Association to give details on the problems caused by the lack of a state spending plan.
