PennDOT has announced that a virtual public hearing for the 2025 Pennsylvania State Rail Plan.
Those plans are now available for public review, and are updated every four years in collaboration with the Federal Railroad Administration, various stakeholders and the public. The plans focus on safety, passenger and freight rail transportation, funding, policy, the environment and economic development. It also evaluates and lists opportunities for improvement and growth in passenger and freight rail over the next 25 years.
The public can take a look at the plan and provide comments by logging on to the Advancing PA Rail website. The virtual public hearing is set for October 16th from 3:30 to 5:00 PM and will highlight key information and answer questions from the public.
