There is still time to submit testimony for the air quality treatment plan for the proposed natural gas-fired power plant in Center Township.
Last week, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection held an official hearing where testimony was presented on the plan for the Homer City Redevelopment property. Much of the testimony presented during the hearing was from groups who were against the plant’s construction due to environmental concerns. A few who spoke in favor of the plan said that the plant would create much-needed jobs for the area.
State Representative Jim Struzzi said that testimony can still be sent in to the DEP no later than September 29th, and that the DEP gives equal consideration to written comments and verbal ones. Each comment must include a name, address and telephone number, the ID number for the permit, which is Plan Approval Number 32-00457A and a concise statement regarding the relevancy of the information.
