Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro says Americans must ‘universally condemn’ political violence after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The governor made the plea during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” stating that political violence causes long-lasting negative impacts on society. Shapiro is among the victims in a recent string of political violence, as he and his family were targeted in an arson attack earlier this year.
Authorities believes the suspect had targeted the governor for his Jewish faith after he reportedly claimed Shapiro had plans for what he wants to do to the Palestinian people.
