The Penguins will play their first exhibition game of the preseason tonight at Montreal, and while most of the top players will sit this one out, new coach Dan Muse will put some intriguing players on the ice, including the top veteran free agent acquisition, forward Anthony Mantha.
Veteran defensemen Ryan Shea and Ryan Graves will dress, as will two top young blue line prospects, Owen Pickering and Harrison Brunicke.
And one of the Penguins’ three first round picks in this year’s draft will also suit up. Forward Ben Kindel will be in the lineup. The goaltenders will be Sergei Murashov and Joel Blomqvist.
The puck drops at 7 o’clock.

Bernie Parent, the legendary Philadelphia Flyers goalie who led them to the Stanley Cup championship in 1975 and 1976, died overnight Saturday at the age of 80. He had attended an event with a group of his former teammates the night before. Parent won the Cup, the Conn Smythe Trophy, and the Vezina trophies in the back-to-back years of ’75 and ’76. He retired in 1979 after being struck in the eye by a stick.
