The Marion Center Stingers stayed undefeated with a 38-0 blanking of West Shamokin on Friday and stayed a game ahead of River Valley and Cambria Heights, which were also winners in Heritage Conference action.
The Stingers led just 10-0 at halftime but pulled away with four scores in the second half.
In the Coal Bowl, the Northern Cambria Colts eyed an upset on the road and trailed the 3-1 Highlanders, 7-6, at halftime, but Cambria prevailed, 21-14. Todd Marino had the recap on U92.5 FM and Renda Digital TV.

Two other 3-1 teams clashed when Homer-Center visited River Valley at Panthers Stadium and the Panthers dominated, beating the Wildcats, 31-3. Mark Bertig had the recap on WCCS and Renda Digital TV.
Marion Center wasn’t the only conference team to win by shutout on Friday. Purchase Line blanked rival Penns Manor, 14-0, to pick up its second straight win, and United Valley routed Conemaugh Valley, 49-0. Conemaugh Valley and West Shamokin are the only teams without a win
Conemaugh Township improved to 3-2, beating Portage, 39-6.
