A North Apollo man charged with stealing a motorcycle was apprehended by state police early this morning.
Troopers say 39-year-old Jacob Shane Penrose was found by police at a motel in Salem Township, Westmoreland County. He was wanted for a motorcycle theft in Creekside that happened Wednesday when he allegedly stole a Harley Davidson that was being sold by a 27-year-old man. The bike was found along West Lebanon Road, and the gun that was used to threaten the victim and dropped during the chase between the victim and Penrose was also recovered. He is charged with theft, flight to avoid apprehension and driving on a suspended license.
Similar charges were filed in a separate case as Troopers determined he stole an unattended 2006 Ford Escape in Young Township yesterday. That vehicle has since been recovered.
He is currently in Indiana County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
