The Indiana County Municipal Services Authority has become the latest water company to ask its customers to cut back on water use.
ICMSA issued the request yesterday in automated text messages and phone calls. The Crooked Creek district had already been under a mandatory 10% water cutback. The voluntary request affects the remaining seven districts.
The authority joins the Blairsville Borough Municipal Authority and the Central Indiana County Water Authority in issuing the voluntary cutbacks. Some ways to do so include turning the tap off when brushing teeth or washing dishes in the sink, limiting washing cars and watering lawns and gardens.
Burn bans have also been put in place for Montgomery and Grant Townships due to the dry conditions.
