A man is in jail after police say he engaged in an online sexual relationship with who he thought was a 15-year-old girl in Jefferson County.
Authorities say 45-year-old Michael Ellis, of Bath, N.Y., sent numerous sexually explicit messages to members of the 814 Pred Hunters group, who were posing as a teen on the dating app “MeetMe.” Police say Ellis expressed plans to travel to Brookville to meet the girl, asked for sexual photos, and told the decoy he wanted to impregnate her because he “likes kids.”
Ellis is charged with multiple felonies, including attempted statutory sexual assault and attempted indecent assault. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail on $50,000 bail.
