State police took someone into custody on suspicion of DUI after he was found sleeping in a parking lot Friday morning. Troopers were called to the Eat ‘N Park on Indian Springs Road for a car found running and an unresponsive individual. Police say the driver, identified only as a 23-year-old man from Bolivar, was asleep and needed multiple attempts to wake up. He was unable to stand or walk on his own and showed signs of drug impairment. While he was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, a passenger in the vehicle, identified only as a woman, was taken into custody on active National Crime Information Center Warrants.
One person was hurt in a crash on Friday on Philadelphia Street in White Township. State police say the crash was near the intersection of Colonial Drive as 43-year-old Cory McIntyre of Creekside was entering a parking lot when his truck was hit by an SUV driven by 24-year-old Jenelis Roman of Hazleton. Roman had suspected minor injuries and was taken to IRMC for treatment. McIntyre was not injured. Both were wearing their seatbelts.
