A state legislator from Lebanon County, Representative Russ Diamond, has announced plans to introduce a bill that would establish Charlie Kirk Day as an official state holiday in Pennsylvania.
Kirk, a well-known conservative activist, was fatally shot in the neck while speaking at a Turning Point event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
Under Diamond’s proposal, the first Monday of August each year would be dedicated to Kirk, whom he described as a tireless defender of free speech. Diamond argued that honoring Kirk would reflect Pennsylvania’s long-standing role in advancing the nation’s commitment to free expression.
