First place in the Heritage Conference was at stake when Marion Center traveled to Cambria Heights Friday night and the last two undefeated teams didn’t disappoint in a 26-25 victory for the Stingers on U92.5 FM and Renda Digital TV.
The Stingers came back from a 22-7 halftime deficit and held the Highlanders off with an interception at the end of the game. The loss snapped a 13-game conference winning streak for Cambria Heights. Todd Marino has the recap.
Speaking of comebacks, United Valley came back for a second week in a row, this time erasing a 2-0 halftime deficit to beat Conemaugh Township, 19-15. There was no coming back for the Penns Manor Comets, as they were dominated by Homer-Center Wildcats, 38-14. Mark Bertig has the recap on WCCS and Renda Digital TV.
Homer-Center’s win set up a Week 5 clash with another 3-1 team, the River Valley Panthers, who trounced Portage, 56-26. Jeff Cribbs reports.
Purchase Line earned its first win, downing winless West Shamokin, 35-13. And Northern Cambria won by the biggest margin of the evening, shutting out Conemaugh Valley, 41-0.
