Former Pittsburgh Penguins Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is rejoining the team for one more pre-season game. The Pens announced that the goalie that helped them win Stanley Cups in 2009, 2016 and 2017 has signed a professional tryout contract. Pens President of Hockey Operations and GM Kyle Dubas said Fleury will practice with the team on September 26th before playing in portions of the pre-season game on the 27th.
This is being seen as a ceremonial move to have Fleury retire as a Penguin. He was originally drafted by the Pens in 2003 and has just about every major team goaltending record. He retired from the NHL last May at the end of the season but played once more for Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship.
