Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro says political violence “cannot be allowed in our society” following the shooting death of conservative figure Charlie Kirk.
In a statement on social media yesterday, Shapiro called the shooting “horrifying,” and urged people to “speak with moral clarity.” The 31-year-old was shot and killed during an outdoor rally at a college in Utah. The shooting comes almost five months after Shapiro’s home was set on fire in an alleged politically motivated attack.
Flags in Pennsylvania are being flown at half-staff as a mark of respect for Kirk and will remain lowered until sundown on Sunday.
