Along with helping out at the fire in Kittanning on Tuesday, first responders were called out for other incidents in Indiana County.
Members of the Indiana Fire Association were called out three times yesterday. The first was to aid fire crews in Armstrong County. The second call was initially termed a “miscellaneous” incident on North 8th Street at 1:56 PM, where fire officials were joined by Indiana borough police. According to assistant chief Robert Henry, it was a shed fire set off by someone burning yard debris. The structure was a total loss, but the resident was able to save 90% of the shed’s contents. No injuries were reported.
Indiana was also sent with Homer City, Coral-Graceton and Creekside fire departments to a reported structure fire at 7:44 PM in the area of Milay Circle. Fire officials said it was a false alarm as someone saw a lot of smoke that was actually coming from a grill.
A vehicle fire was reported on Route 22 East in West Wheatfield Township. Clyde fire department was sent out first at 11:17 PM, with Blairsville, Black Lick and Armagh Fire departments dispatched about five minutes later.
