On last night’s initial Hawk Talk program on 92.5 U92 and Renda Digital TV, IUP coach Paul Tortorella reflected on last week’s season-opening loss to Ashland and looked forward to this Saturday’s Hall of Fame Weekend game against Lock Haven. The Bald Eagles hung on to defeat Glenville State, 16-13, in their opener on Saturday.
Tortorella doesn’t feel the loss to Ashland will have a great effect on IUP’s chances at making the NCAA Atlantic Region playoffs, if the Crimson Hawks take care of business.
Lock Haven lost a lot of talent from last year’s 5-6 team, which IUP narrowly defeated, 20-17, but Tortorella says they restocked the roster with players from the transfer portal.
Lock Haven was 3-4 in games decided by a margin of one score last season. Tortorella says they play a lot of close games.
Saturday’s Hall of Fame festivities will coincide with IUP’s Family Weekend. The game kicks off at four o’clock.
