A 17-year-old is facing adult charges after a stabbing at a Washington County high school.
The incident occurred Sunday afternoon at Joe Montana Stadium at Ringgold High School, during halftime of a youth football game. Authorities say Daron Carpenter, 17, allegedly stabbed another teenager. The victim’s condition has not been released. Carpenter is being charged as an adult with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon on school property.
Investigators are still working to determine a motive. In response to the incident, the Ringgold School District has canceled classes at all of its schools on Monday.
