State police have released statewide statistics for the Labor Day weekend enforcement initiative.
Over the four-day weekend, troopers across the state investigated 747 crashes. Six people were killed in six of those crashes. There were 64 crashes related to people driving under the influence, and two of those crashes were fatal. Another 129 people were hurt. The number of total crashes and DUI crashes were up from the 2024 Labor Day holiday, but the other categories saw minor decreases.
Troopers made 535 DUI arrests, issued over 6800 speeding tickets, 147 child safety seat citations, 776 seat belt citations and over 16,000 other tickets.
