Central Michigan turned a 24-3 deficit into a 24-17 game in the third quarter yesterday at Acrisure Stadium before Pitt reasserted itself and beat the Chippewas, 45-17.
Eli Holstein threw for 304 yards and four touchdowns to lead Pitt. Running back Desmond Reid piled up 179 yards combined in rushes, pass receptions, and punt returns.
Next up for Pitt is the renewal next Saturday of the Backyard Brawl, when they travel to West Virginia to play the Mountaineers, who were upset by Ohio University yesterday, 17-10.
