The Eastbound car overturned and ended on its driver’s side facing South on Route 22, while the other car was spun and stopped in the intersection.
One passenger succumbed to her injuries after she was taken to IRMC. One driver was taken to Allegheny General Hospital by Life Flight, while another passenger was taken to Forbes Hospital for treatment. The road was closed for three hours to facilitate investigation and cleanup. Coral-Graceton firefighters were called in for standby detail.
The other fatal crash was on Old Route 119 South in White Township just North of Johnson Road. Indiana Fire Association was called out at 12:15 this morning to provide traffic control.
Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman, Jr. confirmed the fatalities, but the names of the victims have not been released, pending notification of the victims’ families.
