The 74th brush fire call of the year for Indiana County Firefighters turned out to be a controlled burn in White Township.
Indiana County 911 reported the fire on Old Route 119 South in White Township at 6:05 PM, and sent the Indiana Fire Association at the time. Fire officials said that it was a controlled burn being performed by property owners near Mohney’s Towing and Divine Destiny Ministries as they were clearing brush.
On the fourth call to the scene, crews did not find people keeping the fire under control, so it was extinguished by firefighters.
