Motorists in the Blairsville Borough and Burrell Township areas will see some changing traffic patterns tonight connected with the construction of a pedestrian-bike bridge.
PennDOT says that both lanes of Route 22 from Route 119 to Route 217 will close from 10:00 tonight to 6:00 tomorrow as crews work on installing girders for the walkway that will go over 22. Drivers will use Walnut Street and Old William Penn Highway in Blairsville Borough to the 119 interchange ramps as a detour around the scene. There will be local access to some of the businesses along 22 during that time, but flaggers will be in place at intersections.
PennDOT officials believe that if the weather pattern for today remains the same, then the work will go off tonight as scheduled. If it is rained out, work will be moved to the same time frame for September 8th and 9th.
