Authorities have filed charges against a Fayette County couple accused of child endangerment.
Last month, five children were removed from the Redstone Township home of James and Carly Kahl after investigators reported finding them living in deplorable conditions. The residence allegedly had boarded-up windows, feces smeared on the walls, and was infested with fleas. Officials say the children, ages five to fourteen, were confined to a room locked from the outside.
The Kahls were taken into custody on Wednesday.
