The Pirates waited to announce their rotation, but manager Donnie Kelly has decided to throw Carmen Mlodzinski (3-7, 3.86 ERA) tonight. The rest of the pitching matchups in the series are intriguing: Shohei Ohtani faces rookie righthander Braxton Ashcraft tomorrow and Thursday’s matchup is two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell against the Pirates’ Paul Skenes, who is one of the contenders for the Cy Young this season.
After facing the NL West-leading Dodgers for three games, the Pirates host the Central Division leading Milwaukee Brewers this weekend.
