At a meeting Monday evening, Indiana Borough Council raised concerns about the updating of the zoning policy.
The policy has been a work in progress for about eighteen months now, and some council members had concerns about how the new zoning map looked. Trajan Jones with the planning department says that one of the big changes is the naming of the new districts.
He says that another change is the removal of parking minimums.
The council will look further into the zoning ordinance at the next Planning Commission meeting, scheduled for Monday, September 15th at 5:30.
Other business included the replacement of both Indiana Fire Association station roofs following storm damage. According to Indiana Mayor Bill Simmons, the station at the corner of 5th and Philadelphia Streets is finished, and the station on Indian Springs Road will be complete soon. The project came at a cost of about $125,000, which was all covered by insurance.
