Week Two of the high school football season kicks off tonight with games on four Renda Media radio stations, and three of them are also on Renda Digital TV.
On WCCS and Renda Digital TV (WCCSradio.com), 1-0 Homer-Center tangles with 0-1 United Valley. Wildcats coach Greg Page says United Valley will be motivated, coming off their loss to Cambria Heights.
Page says Homer-Center needs to play more like they did last week against Northern Cambria, not like they did last year against United Valley.
United Valley coach Lou McElwee says there are definite areas of improvement for the Lions after last week’s disappointment.
McElwee says this is a different Homer-Center than last year’s team.
At Cambria Heights, it’s a big early-season matchup of two heavyweights, when River Valley visits the Highlanders on Cat Country 106.3 FM and Renda Digital TV (CatCountry1063fm.com). Both teams are 1-0.
Panthers coach Ed Dalton says the two teams are very similar.
Cambria Heights coach Jarrod Lewis is looking for Week One-to-Week Two improvement from the Highlanders.
On 92.5 FM U92, Northern Cambria and Purchase Line are both hoping to rebound from losses last week, the Colts to Homer-Center and the Red Dragons to Conemaugh Township.
Purchase Line coach Matt Falisec is looking forward to the challenge of a talented Northern Cambria team.
Coach Sam Shutty is anxious to see how Northern Cambria responds to adversity.
The other Heritage Conference games tonight are 1-0 Portage at 1-0 Marion Center, 0-1 Penns Manor hosting 0-1 Conemaugh Valley, and 1-0 Conemaugh Township at 0-1 West Shamokin.
All of the Indiana Total Therapy pregame shows begin at 6:30 tonight, except for Homer-Center’s game against United Valley. That one airs at 6:15.
