A Punxsutawney man is facing charges after police say he fired a shotgun inside his Church Street apartment while claiming intruders were after him.
Police charged 33-year-old Tyler Weisenstein with recklessly endangering another person and discharge of firearms. Officers responding around 12:12 a.m. on August 1 found the weapon and a spent shell but no signs of forced entry. Neighbors reported weeks of erratic behavior and yelling, while police noted signs of drug use and a history of false 911 calls.
Weisenstein was taken for a mental health evaluation. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 24.
