After waiting all season for his Major League callup, Bubba Chandler has shown he belongs, last night becoming the first player since 1989 to get a save and a win in his first two MLB appearances. Joe Block has the story of a Pirates’ comeback win in St. Louis.
Manager Donnie Kelly was proud of the work of Carmen Mlodzinski and Chandler.
Kelly likes the bulldog approach of Chandler on the mound.

The weekly injury report includes progress for both pitcher Jared Jones and catcher Endy Rodriguez, both of whom are coming off elbow surgery. Jones will visit his surgeon, Dr. Keith Meister, next week with the hope of being cleared to begin throwing. Rodriguez has regained full range of motion and remains on track to return for spring training.
