The case against a Freeport Area School District teacher accused of sexually assaulting a minor will proceed to trial.
According to investigators, 50-year-old Jared Lampus is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a 16-year-old beginning in 2023. At the time, Lampus was employed as an elementary school teacher in the district and also served as a coach with the Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Association.
During a preliminary hearing this week, a judge ordered that multiple charges against Lampus—including rape—be held for trial.
