Kiski Township police say a 14-year-old boy remains in critical condition after being pulled from the Kiski River over the weekend. The incident happened Saturday afternoon near the Roaring Run trailhead off Canal Road, where first responders were called to the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the boy’s name or provided details on how he ended up in the water. After being rescued, he was transported to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he continues to receive treatment.
In response to the incident, Apollo-Ridge School District officials posted a statement on their website Sunday, noting that school counselors will be available to support students throughout the week.
