Blairsville Borough Police responded to a call concerning a woman sleeping in a laundry mat on Thursday.
Officers were called to the Y-O Laundry Mat along East Market Street shortly after 2:30 p.m. for a report of a woman sleeping inside the business. When they arrived, officials say that they found 34-year-old Alexa Varrato under the influence of a controlled substance. They also found several pieces of drug paraphernalia in her possession. Varrato was then arrested and later released to a sober adult.
Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness were filed at Magistrate Robert Bell’s office.
