A pair of Westmoreland County fire departments are receiving grant assistance through the Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program.
The program — sponsored by State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council — is providing 150 $10,000 grants this year to resource-limited volunteer fire departments. The Sewickley Township Volunteer Fire Company and the North Irwin Volunteer Fire Company are among those receiving those grant dollars this year.
The Shenango Township Volunteer Fire Department in Lawrence County is also being named as a recipient.
