A sentencing hearing is scheduled today for a man who pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence.
Reed Tantlinger was charged in connection with the crash on January 7th of 2023 that killed 25-year-old Hunter McCloskey in the Westbound lanes of Route 422 in Pine Township. The 24-year-old Homer City man rear-ended McClocksey’s vehicle, pushing it into several boulders and a utility pole along the side of the road. He fled the scene but was later found at a friend’s house.
On May 23rd, he entered the guilty plea, with charges of accident where the victim dies, two counts of DUI-controlled substance, and seven summary driving counts not prosecuted.
Another sentencing hearing scheduled for today is 36-year-old Connie Trovato of Apollo, who pleaded guilty on June 19th to aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI and two counts each of child endangerment and DUI for an incident on February 4th of 2024. Also on the docket is the sentencing hearing for 37-year-old Brittaney Luther of Saltsburg, who pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in June 2025 for an incident in February of last year.
