Charges are being filed against a Western Pennsylvania teacher and athletics coach accused of sexual assault.
According to reports, 50-year-old Jared Lampus engaged in sexual contact with a teen on multiple occasions beginning in 2023 when the victim was just 16-years-old. Lampus coaches with the Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Association and is a teacher an elementary school teacher in the Freeport Area School District. He was arrested Friday on charges including rape and sexual assault.
Without mentioning Lampus by name, Freeport Area Schools has released a statement saying that one of their teachers who is the subject of a law enforcement investigation has been placed on leave pending further information or the outcome of the investigation.
