School is almost here for Indiana County’s students, with some starting this week. Marion Center and River Valley both start classes on Wednesday. The Marion Center school board will meet on Monday night with an extensive list of personnel items on the agenda.
Penns Manor, Purchase Line, and Homer-Center have all scheduled the first day of classes this Thursday. Homer-Center’s school board also meets on Thursday.
United starts school next Monday the 25th. Indiana Area starts on Tuesday the 26th. The Indiana school board’s Building, Grounds, & Transportation Committee meets tomorrow night.
An open house has been scheduled for Indiana Area’s Eisenhower Elementary School on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM. The public is invited to enjoy a walkthrough of the building, which will finally reopen for classes this fall after being heavily damaged in a fire in April of 2021. Sixth graders and new seventh and eighth graders will get a students-only sneak peek at Indiana Junior High School this Friday afternoon.
