The IUP campus has slowly come alive again in the last several weeks, but the pace will quicken considerably this week. About 800 new students moved in yesterday and another 650 are expected to arrive today. Returning students will move in next Saturday and Sunday.
New Student Welcome Week activities begin tomorrow, including the University Welcome at 3:30 at Fisher Auditorium, followed by a community dinner in the Oak Grove starting at 4:30. The Talon Walk in downtown Indiana is from 3 to 6 PM on Thursday.
The opening of the academic year is on Friday morning and the festivities continue all weekend with the Crimson Carnival Block Party Saturday afternoon at the KCAC and IUP’s 150th anniversary carnival in the KCAC parking lot from 5 to 9, culminating with fireworks.
When the fun of Welcome Week is over, classes finally begin on Monday the 25th at IUP.
