PENNDOT WORKER FINDS SUSPICIOUS ITEM

A suspicious item found in Westmoreland County is being investigated. Authorities say that on Thursday afternoon, a PennDOT worker discovered the suspicious item inside a box on Route 30 near the Pennsylvania Turnpike ramp in Irwin.

The item has since been removed from the scene after being inspected by dogs and a drone. No further details have been released.
